It's almost here - the TOY RUN BEFORE THE RAINS - put on by the Anacortes Elks #1204, Anacortes, Washington.
DATE: October 18, 2008
TIME: For Anacortes - Breakfast more like 8:30 - 9 am. Leave on Poker run 11 am. Return by 6 pm for Poker Run results, Raffle and Chili. You can start at any of the 7 locations!!!
COST: Rider Registration - $25 per bike / per rider (bike with passenger = $50.00), includes CHILI, SALAD, CORNBREAD. Breakfast $5.00 - All you can eat!
WHO THIS BENEFITS: The children and families of Skagit and Whatcom Counties served by the Salvation Army (Anacortes and LaConner, WA), Pregnancy Choices
(located in Mount Vernon and Concrete, WA), and Lydia Place (from Bellingham WA - a domestic violence shelter serving Whatcom County)

Please Note: Mail in registrants must start the ride in Anacortes.
Include your email if you want notification next year! Registrations received in the mail on or after October 18th, 2008, will be used as donations - no refunds.
OTHER OPTIONS: You can drop off new toys at select locations throughout Skagit and Whatcom Counties - watch for our boxes and barrels. Or mail a donation to the Elks at the above address, marked "Toy Run Before The Rains." You may also donate items for the raffle - contact the Elks at the above address for more info, or E-mail to arrange pickup. Consider a gift certificate or other precious item for a donation.
ADDED BONUS: If you do go on the Poker Run, there will be 7 stops, so you will pick up 7 poker cards per registered person. IF you bring in one brand new toy still in the packaging, you will receive 1 extra card, for a total of 8 cards!
RAFFLE: There will be a raffle of the wonderful items donated by businesses and individuals. Funds from the raffle will also be donated to the above charities.
CARS OR POOR WEATHER: If you can't ride with us on a bike, or the weather is poorly, you are still welcome to join us in a car or other 4-wheeled/3-wheeled/or more wheeled vehicle.
POSTERS: We will be sending people out into the community with posters - please help us promote this tremendous effort by putting up a poster at your business.
MAPS: Maps will be available on the day of the Toy Run.
BARRELS OR BOXES: IF you want to put a barrel or a box on your property to accept toys for this run, please let us know and we will gladly get you one.
